Vote In "Record Numbers": PM Modi's Appeal As Tripura Goes To Polls

The polling for the Tripura Assembly election is underway amid tight security. 

Taking to Twitter, PM Narendra Modi wrote, "Urging the people of Tripura to vote in record numbers and strengthen the festival of democracy. I specially call upon the youth to exercise their franchise (sic)."

 
Voting for 60 assembly constituencies in Tripura began across 3,328 polling stations. Long queues were witnessed in most of the booths of city before the polling started. 

The counting of votes will be done on March 2.
