Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an all-party meeting on June 24 to discuss the situation in Manipur. This will be the first all-party meeting since the clashes broke out in the northeastern state.

The meeting will take place at 3 pm in Delhi. The motive of the meeting is to mull over the current situation and the ways to restore normalcy in the strife-torn state.

Ethnic clashes broke out in Manipur after a 'Tribal Solidarity March' was organised in the hill districts on May 3 to protest against the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. More than 100 people have lost their lives in the violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities.
