A day after he was transferred from the law ministry to the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday, May 19, said that he did not see the move as a punishment, adding that it was part of PM Narendra Modi’s vision.
Taking charge as Earth Sciences Minister, Rijiju said that, “Opposition will definitely criticise me…opposition speaking against me is not a new thing…this shifting is not a punishment, this is the plan of the govt, this is the vision of PM Modi.”
Just a year ahead of the general Lok Sabha elections, Kiren Rijiju was abruptly replaced as Union Law Minister by Arjun Ram Meghwal in the cabinet shuffle on May 18.
